Rick Mickaliger

Three career wins, all of them at Canterberry, and Rick Mickaliger spaced them across five years: #31 in June 2011, #38 eight months later, and #77 in January 2016 — that last one forty-seven months after the one before it.

The best stretch of his career ran from November 2011 to August 2012, spanning two Canterberry seasons: six tournaments in a row cashing and finishing inside the top seven in every one. Only a handful of players have ever put six together like that.

His biggest paydays came at the Annual, where the fields are largest and the money is deepest. He cashed three times in thirteen appearances, the best of them $495 for third place at the 2017 Annual — twenty-one runners and ten hours and forty-three minutes of poker, the longest tournament this league has ever played. He was one of the last three standing in it.

Across 75 events since January 2010 he has 17 cashes, 70 knockouts and $1,779 in career prize money. His two Canterberry wins in 2011 and 2012 both came with six or more knockouts; at #38 he took out six of the fourteen in the field.

Four trips to heads-up, two of them won. Fifteen years and an Annual podium in the longest night anyone has played — Rick has been part of the furniture of this league since the Canterberry days.
