Canterberry Poker League · Tournament #110
Steve McLean Takes the Finale, Dale Ellicott Takes the League
Dale won the first tournament he ever played, in June. Ten months later he is League Champion in his first season.
Steve McLean closed the season with four knockouts and his fourth Canterberry Poker League win — three hours and fifty-five minutes, $145, and a first since June 2016.
Eric Denny matched him with four knockouts and lost the thirteen-minute heads-up match, taking $85 for second. It was his one hundred and tenth league tournament, more than anybody has played.
Charlie Drotar was third for $60, a second money finish in a row. Mike Conner took fourth and $40, and Andrew Shier completed the money in fifth for $30.

The undercard

Dale Ellicott came seventh, which was enough.
The bigger picture
Ten tournaments, eight different winners. Dale Ellicott and Josh Martin won twice each; nobody has won three in a season since Eric Denny took four in 2009-10.
Dale Ellicott is the 2018-19 League Champion and takes the trophy on 118 points from nine starts. He played his first league tournament in June and won it; he won again in October; and he led the standings from November to the end, including a night in March when he was the first player out and still did not lose the lead.
He is the ninth different champion in eleven seasons. Rick Mazza was second on 113 from all ten and Jeff Reichwein third on 107 from eight.
